Bell Ringer – May 12 You need a Jenna Fox book, your library book, and a separate piece of paper. Take one of each highlighter color from the supply table: green, yellow, pink or orange Write today’s date in your bell ringer section and summarize what we read in Jenna Fox last class. If you were absent, ask a neighbor what we read, and write that down. Be prepared to share out your answer with the class.

Reminders Late vocabulary homework can still be turned in before school, after school, or during lunch for half credit stamps. Your vocabulary quiz is next Monday. Study the 14 quiz words! Your DWA papers will be handed back next week. These cannot be taken home. In order to raise your grade, you will need to plan to stay after school to work on it before June 8th.

On your separate piece of paper… Write your name and a thesis statement for what the gray pages mean. Use the thesis statement formula in your DIRT log as you write: Thesis/claim formula: Topic + linking word + specific assertion 3. Highlight your topic green, your linking word yellow, and assertion pink or orange. 4. When you finish, turn this into the tray at the front of the room, and immediately start reading your library book.
