Starter: Let’s count the animals as they get on the boat. Counting in 2s

Starter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wwydguSKOU Now let’s take our number squares and count in twos. Point at each number while you say it. Partner 1: point under each number and partner 2 say the numbers out loud. Then swap.

Count in 2s Put your finger on 2… now lets count on together. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12….. Now put your finger on 18…. Now let’s count on together. 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32….. Now pick an even number for your partner and ask them to count on in twos using your number square.

LO: Count in 2s to 100. Red Group: Complete this without using a number-line.

Then model on class number line that as we count on the numbers get bigger. Give a different group of children different number cards and ask them to arrange themselves silently from the smallest number to the biggest number.
