Goals of the project Given parameters: Design and build a prototype of a child’s toy. Goals set by the professors: Keep a OneNote log of progress, identify a customer and get feedback, design and build toy. Goals we set as a team: Work together well, everyone contribute, and have fun

Our Idea When trying to decide what to build as our toy, we tried to think of what children like. And then it hit us. Children love boxes. So we expounded upon the idea of a box. So we thought of what else children like. And it hit us again, children love shapes. And an idea was born. Our idea is a box that you put your hands in, and without being able to see inside, pick up cut out shapes and push them through corresponding holes in the back wall of the box.

Actual Design Reverse shape sorter idea Helps with tactile and spatial reasoning Kids love boxes Without being able to see the shape, the child must feel the shape they are holding and push it through the hole in the back that is right Built from wood and laser cut holes for a more precise finish for the shapes

Customer Feed Back and Results Paizlee, a 6 year old, was our group’s customer. She played with the toy and enjoyed the multicolored aspect of the box. She initially found it hard to push the shapes through, but once she got the hang of it, the fun began! Paizlee was overall satisfied with the toy and enjoyed playing with it.

Conclusion The BOX is a toy that helps with spacial reasoning by not allowing the user to see the block or hole they are pushing through. The BOX is a toy that all ages can enjoy, but specifically humans aged from 2 years to 6 years. It can be the source of fun for you and your family for hours!
