Amazon Jungle of Ecuador Conservation Biology & Economics: The Debate about Oil August 2017

Learn about the Amazon’s ecosystem, plants and animals, the services it provides, and what threatens it. Learn about the importance of healthy rainforests both in Ecuador and at home. Learn about how oil exploration impacts the health of the rainforest. Live in an eco-lodge along the waterways and travel with indigenous guides through the network of rivers and streams.

Study the debate surrounding oil. Learn about the economic climate in Ecuador that offers an interesting backdrop for this decision. Learn about the landmark lawsuit that brought this to the world’s attention.
