Process If you have not posted your Journal 3 then you are very far behind. Some people who have posted Journal 3 should meet with me before you go on. Most people who have posted Journal 3 can continue with intermediate research.

Process Meet with me if you have posted your journal but you have not had your question approved. Meet with me if you have not posted your journal. If your research question is approved then go on with the intermediate research assignment. My goal with this process is for you to not have to completely rewrite your essay.

Intermediate Research Your completed essay will probably have the following basic structure: Problem Solution Objections to solution Answers to objections

Intermediate Research Your intermediate research assignment is to do research on either how the problem or the solution developed. What has caused the problem? When? What is the scale of the problem within the geographical scope of the argument? Who recognized the problem? When? Who participated in creating a solution? When? Has the solution been effective?

Intermediate Research Each of the questions in the intermediate research assignment can probably be answered in a short essay. You might think of your completed essay as several small essays put together with transitions. If your research question is approved then get started on one of the questions for the intermediate research assignment. We will workshop intermediate research assignments later this week.

Intermediate Research If you want, you can write down questions and initial answers for a part of your intermediate research. Example: Should the state of California raise the minimum wage. What cities in California have proposed raising the minimum wage? Put the list into chronological order. Indicate whether the proposals passed.

Homework Post revised research questions by replying to your first post. Hand in the sheet with questions and initial answers.
