Holidays The Chinese holidays are New Years, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, May Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and national day. The most important celebration is the Chinese New Year. It marks the end of the winter season. It lasts a total of 15 days, and on each day something different is celebrated.

Clothing Men Women The three central colors are red, white, and black. Today, men are seen wearing the traditional Chinese long gown. Women Women are often seen wearing the ch’i-p’ao, a more modern form of the Ching Dynasty Fashion. The three central colors are red, white, and black.

Business Etiquette You should never be late. Business cards are used all the time, and you should accept them with two hands. Speak slowly and use short sentences. Never say no, using something less indirect.

Dining Always remove your shoes before entering the house. Eat a lot to demonstrate you are enjoying the food. Hold the rice bowl close to your mouth while eating. Older workers consider tipping an insult, but it is becoming more common.

Land Marks The Grand Canal of China: China’s oldest and longest canal. It is 1,795 kilometers in length and has 24 locks and about 60 bridges. The Great Wall of China: The Great Wall is over 6,000 kilometers long. It is the symbol of the Chinese Nation and is one of the Seven Wonders of the world. Huang Long China: a special scenic spot in Central China, and known as the treasure of China.
