Former Student Success 2016 graduating class (20 students) 14 students are currently enrolled or have completed college level programs 4 students have or are currently working as CNAs 3 students are in ADN nursing programs 1 student is enrolled in paramedic school 1 student is finishing their final semester of surgical technology school Student majors include: Business management (graduate intern with Disney’s retail management) Nursing (3 students) Child Development Pharmacy Tech Systems Engineering with an emphasis in human factors Drafting and Design Business finance Psychology (desires to be a college advisor) UNA Massage Therapy program Paramedic I did not hear back from 4 students
Former Student Success 2017 graduating class (24 seniors) 19 are enrolled is post secondary college programs 5 are employed in the health care field 1 student joined the armed forces Student majors include: Nursing (6 students) Dental Hygiene (3 students) Sonography (2 students) Phlebotomy Funeral Services I did not hear back from 2 students

Potential Credentials The following chart provides you with the number of students who will potentially be receiving credentials this school year. Credential Testing will be as follows: CNA- April 24 EMT- December CMAA- May 1 Health Care Provider CPR Instructor- April 3 Credential # of students CNA 10 EMT 3 CMAA 2 Pharmacy Tech Health Care Provider CPR Instructor 5
Potential Credentials We must select what credentials we will offer during the 2018- 2019 school year. I would like to continue to offer 4 different credentials I have requested to add Health Care Provider CPR instructor to this year’s credentials with your approval
Health Science Access Retreat Monday and Tuesday, November 6 & 7, 2017 1:00- Motivational Speaker 2:00- Annual HOSA games (Olympic style competition) 7:30- Depart WCTC 8:00- Breakfast at Camp McDowell 5:30- Dinner with a health care professional followed by 4 round table discussions 9:00- College Fair 9:45- College representatives discuss health science programs with a Q&A session 8:30- S'mores and an outdoor movie 11:00- curfew 11:00- Camp McDowell activities (canoeing, ropes course, kick ball) Tuesday, 8:30 am- depart from camp McDowell following by breakfast at Jack’s 12:00- Lunch at Camp McDowell
Health Science Access Retreat The majority of the cost of this event is being made possible through BSCC and Alabama Access for Higher Education What we need: Professionals for the “dinner with a healthcare professional event” Door prizes & giveaways for students Donations for t-shirts The students are very excited about this event. I hope to make this an annual event.
