Jesus and the Holy Spirit

Christianity is not a religion; it is a relationship.

Christmas is not all about Jesus; it is also about the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is present with Jesus from birth through death and resurrection.

What can the Holy Spirit do for you?

He can counsel and defend you when you are in trouble. He conveys the truth to you when you are confused by lies. He helps you pray when you are in need.

4. He empowers you to speak boldly when you are timid. Acts 4:8, 31, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.

Mk 13:11-12, whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not your speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

5. He can tell you where to go and what to do. Acts 10:19-20, while Peter was still thinking about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Simon, three men are looking for you. So get up and go downstairs. Do not hesitate to go with them, for I have sent them.”

Acts 13:2, while they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

Do you know that widows, orphans, aliens and poor are very dear to God? Ex 22:22, Do not take advantage of a widow or an orphan.

Deut 10:18, God defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing. Ps 68:5, God is a father to the fatherless, a defender of widows.

Ps 146:9, the Lord watches over the alien and sustains the fatherless and the widow. Jas 1:27, Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.
