“Know Your Worth” Employee Handbook By: Judian Evans “Know Your Worth” Employee Handbook

Employee seminar This presentation is made available to all employers This broadcast is to employees because there are certain precautions we need to take when dealing with a sensitive topic as such In this seminar, it will provide Guidelines/Procedures, Code of Conduct , Social Media/Addressing Work Business

Mission statement Our mission is to help, protect and do any and everything in our power to provide safety for these females. We are to create a safe haven that will help these girls overcome their tragedies through different activities of their choice. We will strongly encourage these young ladies to not let their tragedy have a negative affect on them but encourage them to be stronger.

Value statement We accept 0-21yrs of age. This is a place for females of any race or ethnicity to feel safe, so this is a center for women only. This place also needs to remain sacred, people should not know where this place is located for the safety of these victims.

Guidelines/procedures This is a place for females only (AGE:0-21 yrs). Once these ladies have reached 21 they have gotten all the information and tips to be able to move on and go out into the real world. All ethnicities are accepted This building must be secured 24/7 EVERYONE must have a badge before entering this facility, NO EXCEPTIONS

Guidelines/procedures First important thing we want from these ladies is for them to speak out on their situation. It does not matter how, but the key to moving on is speaking on their traumatic experience These girls will learn about integrity, self respect, self growth, forgiveness, faith and honesty These girls will be given a set of rules to follow and after 3 warnings of not following the set rule, it will result in a termination of care.

Guidelines/procedures As for employees, we must show integrity, honesty, respect and sympathy to these young ladies Failure to follow any rules will lead into a TERMINATION with NO WARNINGS This is a serious environment and we do not condone ANY unethical behavior from employers whatsoever We are to be a guide/mentor to these young ladies and point them in the right direction

Programs Therapy sessions will be provided for all these young ladies (MUST be taken three times a week) Different activities will also be accessible for these young ladies. This will keep them active and help express themselves These activities are: art, dance, poetry, music, exercising, cooking etc. Medical therapy/treatment will be available for those who are in need

Work code of Conduct Dignity and worth of the person- As employers we must help these girls with knowing their self worth and understand how worthy they are We must demonstrate that just because this tragedy has happened to them, they should not blame themselves We also must help them to not let this tragedy affect their lives negatively. We need to help them turn this horrible situation into a positive outcome throughout their lives

Work code of conduct Privacy and Confidentiality- As social workers everything must be kept confidential These females trust you with all their secrets and information that they tell you However, if there is something you must report, you need to get consent from the client and follow the proper protocol You are to not distribute any information to anyone except for your clients

Privacy and confidentiality Protecting your client’s records is very important and should be handled appropriately If no longer working with a client/or this company, you must shred any information of any clients

Work code of conduct Access to Records- The Social Worker who is working with a specific client is the only one who is able to look at their records Records must be kept locked away in your office at the end of the day There are no switching cases unless following proper protocol and/or sharing information with other social workers It is inappropriate to use any names, or anything describing your client to anyone

Work code of conduct Physical Contact- There is to be NO physical contact, NO EXCEPTIONS These clients have been sexually abuse so touching these clients of any sort will not be tolerated Having physical contact can remind these clients of their tragedy and may add psychological stress and damage them

Work code of conduct Sexual Relationships- Social workers are to not partake in any sexual relationship with their clients We are trying to help our clients overcome their tragedy having sexual relationships could mentally, physically, and emotionally harm clients If you are attracted, previously had relations with your client in an unprofessional way you MUST report it and must get a new client

Emotions/feelings Though it may be hard, as social workers we must not get too attached with our clients We are to build a relationship with these clients to gain their respect and trust but employers should hide any personal feelings We are not to belittle our clients’ experience, we must be there every step of the way. All personal lives need to be kept private. These young girls need as much healing and support as possible

occupational talk outside of work Since client records are confidential names of any persons are to not to be distributed amongst other social workers As I find it hard to not discuss a long day at work, situations can be discussed but social workers must not engage in sharing names of their clients Social media talk about clients and/or their situation is NOT allowed This is a place of protection for these girls, you MUST NOT give away your job’s exact name/location

Occupational talk outside of work As this is a place of business, do NOT put any affiliation of your job on any of your social media pages As social workers there should not be any unethical behavior or anything going against your image as a Social Worker (NO derogatory language, and vulgar pictures, updates etc.)

employees As we are working with a sensitive topic and fragile girls who may even have fragile minds it is a lot expected from employers Employees must have a clean record, specific misdemeanors may be expunged before able to work (ANY sexual charges WILL NOT be accepted) Employees must have at least 4+ years of social work experience
