Workshop SEIS/NESIS - ICT Components for SEIS around Europe - Prague, 26th March 2009 Parallel session during the eENVIRONMENT Conference (Prague 25-27 March 2009). The workshop introduced NESIS and the preliminary achieved results: a survey of the status of environmental monitoring and reporting in the countries of the network partners, the individuation of good practices in IT solution in handling environmental data, as already collected by the partners into the “NESIS Good Practice Catalogue”, three  meaningful  Good Practice examples were illustrated, dealing respectively with tools for supporting the SEIS implementation, Spatial Observation Services and Biodiversity and Species Observation. Some preliminary outcomes of the NESIS project, concerning indications about the priorities for the SEIS implementation, were adopted in the Memorandum of Understanding, as final resolution of the Conference.

"Towards SEIS: the NESIS and SEIS-BASIS projects" Genova (IT), 29th October 2009 As projects running in the same SEIS context, NESIS and SEIS-BASIS projects have promoted and organised a joint workshop. The purpose was to leverage the synergies between these two projects. The workshop has been the occasion to present and discuss the European State of Play and the draft of the ICT Roadmap, getting feedback, during and after the event, from the participants and representatives of the Commission and EEA. That started in practice the WP5 activity (validation) The workshop was perceived as helpful both by participants and organisers, and there was an agreement on meeting again to share progress results in a common vision to support the SEIS implementation process. A new combined event is planned on the occasion of the INSPIRE Conference (Krakow, June 2010).

Other dissemination activities During the second period, several dissemination activities have been performed as a combination of actions carried out by the NESIS partners, both at a national level, by the partners EIONET NFPs, and at European level by GISIG and the other partners. These actions, that are related to task 7.1 and 7.2, refer to: Participation to or organisation of Conferences/workshops, with NESIS presentation and/or distribution of project material NESIS presence on Web sites, other than the NESIS web site (www.nesis.eu). Other dissemination/awareness actions, such as articles, meetings or other promotional activity for the project. A comprehensive list of these activities is reported in the following in specific tables, one for each of the above types of dissemination actions, demonstrating the active participation and contribution of the NESIS partners in the Dissemination and Awareness tasks.

National Italian Workshop - SINAnet meeting “Seminar on the access to the Environmental Information” Genova, 28th October 2009 The workshop matched with one of the seminars periodically organised and attended by the Regional Focal Points of the Italian SINAnet Network, the Network of the National Environmental Information Systems in Italy. The Italian Regional Focal Points are 19 Regional Authorities and 2 Autonomous Provinces, for a total of 21 stakeholder organisations interested in the SEIS development and in NESIS activities and results. The meeting was participated by around 60 attendees, and the programme was focused on the accessibility to the environmental information at current state of the art at a regional level.
