USGA Course Rating The previous System used was based virtually on length alone. Little account was taken of the playing difficulty of the golf course. e.g a course of 6,000 yards had an SSS of 69.

USGA Course Rating What we are rating for: Scratch Score is the evaluation of the playing difficulty of a course for scratch golfers under normal course and weather conditions. Bogey Rating A Bogey Rating is the evaluation of the playing difficulty of a course for bogey golfers under normal course and weather conditions. Bogey Ratings will only be used if the Handicap System includes Slope.
