Presentation transcript:

The Davis Dispatch September 24-28, 2012 For the next two weeks, I will be teaching all the subjects as Mrs. Hartman supervises. I am very excited to have this responsibility . I’m amazed at how much the students have already learned and grown, and I know we will have another successful week! We have started collecting donations for our Maymont Park fundraiser, which supports the eagles there (the Francis mascot). The class that raises the most money will represent our school at an event at the park! If you’d like to, send $1.00 in with your child with a note saying that it is for Maymont. Thank you for all your support. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. - Miss Emma Davis, student teacher Language Arts This week your child will be listening to different versions of the story Jack and the Beanstalk. This will be the theme of our week. Ask your child to tell you what happens in the story or to draw the characters. Math We are doing lots of sorting! Encourage your child to help you put things into groups at home, such as utensils in the kitchen drawer. Have them help you put away laundry by sorting it into piles of shirts, pants, and towels! They can practice, and help with chores.  Science If you have a bathroom scale, let your child weigh himself. Talk about how much he weighed when he was born! Try giving your child different size cups and containers to pour and play with in the bath tub. Also, your child will be bringing a bean sprout home on Friday. Ask him or her to describe how it changed!
