MBTI Day 5/6 of class

If you could have any job in the world what would it be and why? Bellringer If you could have any job in the world what would it be and why? Write one well developed PARAGRAPH ABOUT HOW THIS STATEMENT. Remember – a well developed paragraph will have a thesis statement, supporting sentences and conclusion sentence. It will be at least 5 sentences long.

Today we are going to take the Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator and see what your individual results are.

This will work with the learning styles to help me create classes that are interesting as well as informative.

Why take this personality inventory? When teachers and students understand the differences in their teaching and learning styles, communication, and therefore learning, is enhanced. A student's interests and ways of learning directly affect how he or she takes in information. This calls on educators to consider different teaching approaches, based on the needs of students. Basically I can teach you better if I have a better understanding of your personalities.

Why take this personality inventory? Knowing your personality type can help you with career planning at every stage: from your choices of subjects and majors in school choosing your first career to advancing in your organization changing careers later in life.

Why take this personality inventory? Work environments influence how comfortable you are at your job. Someone with a preference for Introversion, for example, who is required to do a lot of detail work or think through a problem, may find it disruptive to be in an environment that is too loud or where a lot of interaction is required. When you know this about yourself, you can make arrangements to do your work in a more suitable location or at a time when there is less activity and interference.

What IS the Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator? It is a test based on the thought that seemingly random variation in the behavior is actually quite orderly and consistent, being due to basic differences in the ways individuals prefer to use their perception and judgment. The actual test was officially published in 1962. The test was created to help determine which careers would be best for women as they entered the workforce for the first time during WWII. The test is made of four different dichotomies or personality descriptions. One can either be: Introverted or Extroverted Sensing or Intuitive 3. Thinking or Feeling 4. Judging or Perceptive

What IS the Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator? This version is a 20 question questionnaire designed to help see who you are. Remember that self-evaluating is not foolproof. Even when test-takers answer honestly, there are reasons why the score is different from their true type. Taking this questionnaire is one step to determine your personality type. Consider the results with objectivity and caution.

Directions For each of the following 20 prompts choose a. or b. Record your answers on the score sheet directly below question The score sheet runs horizontally along the row before going down Choose the answer that you think most accurately describes you Even if you agree with both answers, check one you agree with more. Answer as you really are, not you want to be. Make choices for the majority of your life situations. Having strong interests should not be used to cloud the results. Think of situations in which you are free to be yourself. There are no right or wrong answers. Answer honestly.

Now let’s look at your results
