Inguinal: is when the intestine or bladder protrudes through the abdominal wall or into the inguinal canal in the groin. Hiatal: is when the upper stomach squeezes through the hiatus, which is an opening in the diaphragm where the esophagus passes

Hiatal Hernia Causes Exact cause isn't known Usually caused by injury or too much pressure on the muscles around the stomach which can happen when coughing, vomiting, straining during bowel movements, or lifting heavy objects Another cause can be because the individual is born with an abnormally large hiatus Hiatus: opening in the diaphragm where the esophagus passes

Hiatal Symptoms No distinct symptoms but can be associated with heartburn and abdominal discomfort frequent burping, vomiting, hiccupping
