Best things about working at Crockett The students. We accept the students for who they are and meet them where they are at in life. The administrators. Everyone of our administrators are student oriented and want you to have success. The teachers. We have unbelievably talented teachers. Learn and steal their great ideas and methods. Support Staff. You have team leaders, counselors, secretaries, front office personnel who are here to help and want to help. They are awesome.
Important things and people to know to make the beginning of the year better Technology Systems People to know Checklist TEAMS =Grades and attendance ECST = Your pathway to a students history and future. AISD CLOUD= Everything starts and ends with the CLOUD. The cloud has lesson plans, professional development, appraisal information, email, and your paystubs. -Know your grade level AP and the grade level counselor. They want to help. Let them help you. Mark Dawson(that’s me). I can help you with discipline in your classroom, give you advice(sometimes its even good), and if I don’t know the answers to what you need I can find it for you. - Diane Carrizales and Janice Snyder. Amazing secretaries and people. They know whats going on with the school better than anyone. Have a calendar to make sure you know if its an A day or B Day. Read the Cougar Chatter. Ms. Crawford spends a lot of time on it and puts important information on it. Read it. - Be willing to take, listen, and try our advice. You may know more than us but let us figure that out instead of you telling us.
Life is a bunch of memories and if you have more good ones than bad ones then you have had a good life. Create good memories everyday. Nugget 1 for success in the classroom Nugget 2 for success in the classroom Teamwork Smile, standing at the door everyday when the students come in. Even if you do not want to. Be enthusiastic about your job and avoid sarcasm with the students. They do it all the time but they are not adults and take things very personally. It can harm the teacher student relationship. Remember a bad impression last 10 times as long as a good one. Ms. Crawford and our administration is huge on teamwork. Work together and be team players. The water is warm so jump on in. When we are a team we can move mountains.
