Career in Educational Psychology

Educational Psychologists Are… Social scientists capable of teaching and conducting research in educational psychology Practitioners who provide psychoeducational services to the public A group of professionals who apply theories of educational psychology to enhance the growth and development of their clients

We serve students, teachers, and parents Help teachers improve teaching Help students cope with challenges We serve students, teachers, and parents Help parents improve parenting Improve school environment

What do EPs do? Provide psychoeducational assessment and diagnosis for students Provide counselling services to children and adolescents with learning, emotional, or behavioral difficulties Provide consultation services to parents, teachers, and other professionals so as to help children and adolescents in need of assistance

What do EPs do? Work with parents and teachers to design educational programs or procedures for children and adolescents with special educational needs Work with teachers and student support personnel to develop and implement developmental, preventive, or remedial programs in the whole- school approach to guidance

What do EPs do? Promote quality learning and teaching Develop and implement professional development programs for educators Analyze organizational needs in schools, and provide consultation to the management teams for developing effective measures Assist schools in crisis intervention, and help develop preventive measures and implement treatment

What do EPs do? Conduct research on educational psychology to help teachers improve their teaching and parents their parenting Provide consultation to education policy makers from the perspective of educational psychology
