THE CLASSIC EVENT IN GB The event held on Weymouth’s main beach is widely recognised as the Classic Beach Volleyball event in the UK. It is part of Volleyball England’s Grand Prix tour. Throughout the weekend over 50 000 people will pass the site.

AN INTERNATIONAL EVENT In 2015 over 80 top teams from across GB and Europe played on 10 courts across Weymouth Beach competing in men's and women's events 3 days of competition culminating in the grand finals played in front of 1000 supporters

A CLASSIC HISTORY This is the 34th Weymouth Beach Volleyball Classic. The first event was held in 1983. It was the first 2-a-side Beach Volleyball tournament ever to be held in the UK.

THE EXTREMES OF THE SPORT 1 “Go Spike” Tournaments are also held every week of the summer on Weymouth Beach. They attract youngsters and less experienced players. Most weeks over 70 players compete.

2. THE LONDON OLYMPICS Beach Volleyball amazed crowds at Horse Guards Parade in 2012 in a 15,000 seated stadium GB was represented by a women's team (Zara & Shauna) and a men’s team (Steve & John)
