The Key Stage 4 Curriculum at Christleton High School

This year Christleton High School achieved 82% 5 A*-C incl Eng and Maths (English and Maths 9-4) This reflects the hard work of our Students, parents and teachers.

Changing Landscape

Changing Landscape GCSEs are becoming increasingly difficult. It has never been more important to not just get off to a flying start!

Key Changes All GCSE assessments are now linear. New specifications in most subjects. All GCSE subjects will be graded on a scale of 1-9. (9 is highest grade)

New Grading System

Controlled Assessments Most Controlled Assessments have been replaced by an exam which will assess the same range of skills. There may still be coursework where the subject has a practical element that needs to be assessed eg Art, Computing, PE etc.

Ebacc and Progress 8? These are measures that the Government is now using to compare schools Ebacc –English, Maths, 2x science, language and either Geog or History Progress 8 – measure of how well students perform across 8 subjects compared to students with similar KS2 scores.
