Homeowners Update Meeting + Homeowners Update Meeting OCTOBER 19, 2016 Welcome to the SR 37 Improvement Project Resource Agency Meeting. Meeting is for resource agencies, so please feel free to ask questions. Format of the meeting will be a brief powerpoint presentation to provide some back ground on the project followed by a Google Earth tour This project is a collaborate effort led by the City of Fishers with Noblesville and Hamilton County, with assistance from INDOT. This is a large project that is moving quickly and there are several different consulting firms assisting Fishers, including RQAW, American Stucturepoint, and Lochmueller Group as well as many others.
PROJECT AREA This map shows the project area for the feasibility study. SR 37 is shown in yellow, I-69 and Fishers to the south and SR 32 in Noblesville to the north. Point out intersections
PURPOSE & NEED NEED: Congestion Under existing conditions (2010), 3 of the 8 intersections operate at substandard LOS in the PM peak period. 6 of the 8 intersections have at least one leg operating at substandard LOS in the PM peak period. In the forecast year (2036) 7 of the 8 intersections are forecasted to operate at LOS F in the PM peak period; the 8th intersection is forecasted to operate at LOS E. PURPOSE: Reduce Congestion Eliminate existing and forecasted congestion at the eight signalized intersections on SR 37 between 126th Street and SR 32. Study showed a congestion problem at the intersections Level of Service Rapidly developing area, so problem will simply continue to get worse If you have ever driven this area of SR 37 during rush hour you would have experienced this
PROJECT DESCRIPTION Reconstruct SR 37 to expressway with grade separated interchanges (roundabouts) at: 126th St., 131st St., 141st St., 146th St., Greenfield Ave., Town & Country Blvd., Pleasant St. and SR 32 Right in/right out access at 135th St. 2 Drainage easements: 1 ~ midway between 126th & 131st and 1 along 141st – both west of SR 37 Interchanges will include sidewalks and crosswalks for pedestrians and cyclists Construction of the 126th St., 131st St., 141st St., 146th St. prior to the northern 4 So what do we do to correct this problem. Project entails… Go back to map Phased construction, but environmental document completed for entire corridor.
INTERCHANGE RENDERING Picture of what it might look like Not design, just an example at 126th St. SR 37 depressed and 126th St. elevated Similar to Keystone through Carmel Trying to keep the footprint small and minimize ROW impacts
