Why Housing One Hero?
What can one congregation do right away? Identify low-cost housing options near the faith community Identify potential landlords within congregation Commit to leasing an apartment and subleasing to veteran Commit to re-furbishing an apartment for a recently housed Veteran Invite a recently housed veteran into your community Designate monthly budget toward housing a homeless veteran. Recommended $500-2000 Monthly
What else can one congregation do? Consider how to make more housing and support services available to homeless veterans: Seek ways to use church property to develop housing for Homeless Veterans. Construction of Modular Housing Units Develop capacity to support a veteran through training and resources within your faith community. Have a special outreach to homeless veterans inviting them to your community fellowships
