Sensory Receptors Sensory receptors are specialized neurons that detect energy Sensory receptors transform the energy of the stimuli into a receptor potential (graded action potential) Sensory receptors can adapt to continuous stimuli Hot shower becomes bearable Comfort adjusts to the cold ocean Skunk smell dissipates over time (so does your body odor)
