CAMBRIDGE STARS – GAME ON! Cambridge Elementary has started the implementation of STAR Expectations. STAR is the mnemonic for S-Stay Safe T-Take Pride A-Act Responsibly R-Respect Others

Junior Scientists! Expectations Labs Science Fair Materials SAFETY Labs Science Fair Materials **Students who do not behave in a safe manner will not be allowed to participate in hands on experiments **

Grades Classwork is 90% and homework is 10% of the 9 weeks average. Major project may count as two grades. AHISD’s grading policy, allows students to re-do assignments at the teacher’s discretion. You may notice that classwork is “checked”, but not graded or entered into the gradebook. We will only enter grades that reflect mastery of the TEK.P lease make sure you have set up the parent portal for HAC. You will be able to see grades & ask your child about missing work.

Homework Reading and Spelling homework are turned ion once a week on Fridays. Spelling words are posted on website and in agenda Math homework will be sent home a few times a week to ensure independent practice capabilities (students that cannot complete the work on their own should bring it back to class with questions written for teacher explanation)

Language Arts Homework Menus / Choice Weekly Expectations Due on Fridays Students have a choice menu for each assignment and may choose which activities they want to complete. Learning Proudly bilingual My family Traveling A learner Food  and chocolate Dallas Cowboy fan for life The beach I was born in Texas and moved to Nicaragua when I was 13. I did not speak Spanish at the time and made it a goal of mine to become a fluent speaker. I moved back and forth between Texas and Nicaragua many times. Both hold a very special place in my heart and I call both places ’home’. My name is Winona Mauldin. I am married and have 2 amazing daughters. I am also the oldest of 10, so family is always a very important part of my life. We love to travel, spend time in new places, and exploring the great outdoors. My Education! This is my 8th year teaching. I previously taught at a bilingual school in Nicaragua and also here in the public school system in Texas. This is my first year at Alamo Heights and I am excited to join this district! I graduated from UTSA with a bachelors degree in Education. I also hold a Masters degree from Framingham University in International Education.
