Part One: Early June

Chapter 1 Take Me With You is a story told by August.

Chapter 1 (continued) August is going on a road trip for the summer but his motor home breaks down.

Chapter 1 (continued) August asks Wes to fix his motor home.

Chapter 2 Wes gets arrested. Wes asks August to watch Seth and Henry until he gets out of jail.

Chapter 2 (continued) Wes says he is getting out of jail at the end of August.

Chapter 2 (continued) Wes tells August that he is going to jail because he wrote bad checks.

Chapter 3 August takes Seth and Henry on his road trip.

Chapter 3 (continued) Seth is sad his dad is going to jail but he is happy because he gets to call his dad 3 days a week.

Chapter 4 Seth talks all the time. Henry only talks to Seth, no one else.

Chapter 4 (continued) August tells Seth and Henry that he is a recovering alcoholic.

Chapter 5 August, Seth, and Henry travel to a lot of different states.

Chapter 5 (continued) They see a lot of cool things.

Chapter 6 August, Seth, and Henry go on a lot of walks and hikes. Sometimes they climb mountains.

Chapter 7 Henry is too little to climb to the top of some mountains. August stays with Henry and Seth climbs to the top.

Chapter 7 (continued) Seth becomes a very good climber.

Chapter 8 Henry starts talking to August too and not just Seth.

Chapter 8 (continued) Seth calls his dad 3 times a week to tell him about all of the cool stuff he sees.

Chapter 9 August goes to a meeting for recovering alcoholics.

Chapter 9 (continued) Seth asks to go with August. Seth wants to learn more about recovering alcoholics.

Chapter 9 (continued) Henry and Woody stay in the motor home.

Chapter 10 August finds out that Wes was lying to him. Wes is in jail for drinking and driving, not for writing bad checks.

Chapter 10 Wes is an alcoholic.

Chapter 11 Seth does not call his dad.

Chapter 11 (continued) Seth is mad that his dad lied to them.

Part Two: Late August

Chapter 1 Seth says he wants to do an intervention for his dad when they get home. August says he will help Seth with the intervention.

Chapter 2 August and Seth go to another meeting for recovering alcoholics.

Chapter 2 (continued) Henry and Woody stay in the motor home. Henry takes Woody and runs away while August and Seth are in the meeting.

Chapter 3 Woody comes back to the motor home.

Chapter 3 (continued) The police find Henry and bring him back to the motor home.

Chapter 4 Henry is mad that the summer is almost over and that he will have to go back home, that is why he ran away. Henry wants to stay with August.

Chapter 4 (continued) August starts to drive back to Seth and Henry’s house.

Chapter 5 They all get to Seth and Henry’s house. August helps Seth do the intervention.

Chapter 5 (continued) Wes gets very mad at August and Seth. Wes does not want to become a recovering alcoholic like August.

Chapter 6 August, Seth, and Henry are all really sad that their road trip is over.

Chapter 6 (continued) August leaves Seth and Henry with their dad and drives home.

Chapter 7 August and Woody go back to their house. Seth and Henry go back to school.

Chapter 7 (continued) August does not talk to Seth or Henry for a few weeks.

Chapter 7 (continued) Seth and Henry tried to video chat with August a few weeks later.

Chapter 7 (continued) Wes yelled at Seth when they tried to video chat. Wes does not want him talking to August.

Chapter 7(continued) Wes is still mad at August from the intervention.

Part Three: Late May, Eight Years On

Part Three The story skips ahead 8 years. August still lives at home with Woody. Seth is in college. Henry still lives at home with Wes. August did not get to talk to Seth and Henry a lot over the 8 years.

Chapter 1 August calls Seth and Henry and tells them that he has muscular dystrophy.

Chapter 1 (continued) August cannot drive anymore because he has muscular dystrophy. August has to sell the motor home.

Chapter 1 (continued) Seth buys the motor home from August.

Chapter 2 Seth and Henry go to August’s house to get the motor home.

Chapter 2 (continued) They surprise August and say they are taking him and Woody on a road trip for the summer.

Chapter 3 August is sad because he thinks this is his last road trip ever.

Chapter 3 (continued) Henry tells August that he did not tell his dad he was going on the road trip. August is worried because Henry lied to Wes.

Chapter 4 One the road trip, Seth and Henry take August to the same places that they went on their first road trip.

Chapter 4 (continued) Every morning Seth goes out to climb.

Chapter 4 (continued) Henry lies to his dad and says he is not with August.

Chapter 4 (continued) August is upset with Henry for lying.

Chapter 5 Wes keeps calling Seth and Henry because he does not want them spending time with August.

Chapter 5 (continued) Wes is still mad at August from the intervention.

Chapter 6 August tells Seth that he is not being careful enough when he is climbing.

Chapter 6 (continued) Henry yells at August for being to strict with Seth.

Chapter 7 August tells Henry to call Wes and tell him the truth about the road trip.

Chapter 8 Henry finally called his dad and told him the truth.

Chapter 9 Wes is mad that Henry is spending time with August.

Chapter 9 (continued) Henry yells at his dad.

Chapter 9 (continued) August, Seth, and Henry are all mad at Wes.

Chapter 10 Seth and Henry surprise August by taking him to Niagara Falls.

Chapter 10 (continued) August is very happy.

Epilogue August says he is proud of Seth for climbing.

Epilogue (continued) Seth and Henry say they're going to take August on road trips every summer.
