Things to Think About This is new for you – all course selections will be on-line through myBlueprint You must take 8 courses It is key to select the appropriate level/skill set for each subject – it will determine your success

Compulsory Courses Religion (HRE201) Civics/Careers (CHV2O1/GLC2O1) English (ENG2L1, ENG2P1, ENG2D1, ENG 2DP) History (CHC2L1, CHC2P1, CHC2D1) Math(MAT2L1, MFM2P1, MPM2D1, MPM2DP) Science (SNC2L1, SNC2P1, SNC2D1, SNC 2DP)

Your Elective Choices When selecting your electives make sure you have the electives you really like as you will not be allowed to change electives in September The time to make changes is with course verification

Level Changes in Math When moving from grade 9 locally developed math to the grade 10 applied math, you MUST complete a 4 week summer school course in grade 9 applied math When moving from grade 9 applied math to the grade 10 academic math, you MUST complete a 4 week summer school course in grade 9 academic math

Level Changes If you are in the applied/locally developed courses in grade 9 Science and/or English and you wish to change levels in any of these subject areas, see your counsellor

FYI - Summer School If you are unsuccessful in a course you should take it in summer school If you do not take the course in summer school then you must add it to your course selection for grade 10

FYI - Accelerated Option If you plan to take a summer school course, make sure your course selection/verification form still reflects 8 choices. (No spares!)

So how will this unfold? On January 9th you will receive your course selection packages. All course selections will be done through myBlueprint There is a new way to access this site. Follow the steps outlined in the package. -You will now access myBlueprint through www.dpcdsb.org (the board website) To set up a new account you will need your OEN, your DOB month/day/year and a valid email account.

myBlueprint Prior to selecting your courses on myBlueprint, take the Christmas holidays to work and complete the Individual Pathway Plan (IPP) This will assist you in making course selections for your entire high school career This will also assist you in preparing for your post-secondary exit plan

(WARNING: Courses fill up quickly) So when do we start? Course selection will occur on: Tuesday January 10th, 2017 (WARNING: Courses fill up quickly) The portal will open at 4pm school time The portal will close January 16 at 3:00pm SHARP You may change your course selection in March when the course verification forms come out Reminder- no elective changes after mark verification

So what happens in January? You will make your course selections on January 10th at 4:00 P.M. (WARNING: Courses fill up quickly) Once you have submitted your course request (don’t forget to press SAVE) you will: a) print a Course Request Verification Report, get it signed by a parent/guardian b) pay the $65 Activity Fee on-line c) submit to homeroom teacher Jan. 12th-18th
