Commissioning steps (1/2) In general Commissioning is a Verification of functionality (hardware + software debugging phase) Installation of PLC, WebMas and PVSS software Test Profibus and CANbus lines from PLC to field nodes Cable check from control racks to gas racks With control interface we take output objects into manual mode and operate them (valves, pumps, MFCs, LEDs,…) For input devices we: Take off the device-connector in the rack and observe the state change on the control interface Provoke a reading with a change of pressure or flow in an other part of the system. Gas system commissioning Dec 2006 S.Haider PH/DT1 Conclusions Commissioning procedures are very well tuned by now. The teams ( ours + IT/CO) work extremely efficiently ALICE and ATLAS systems will be ready to deliver gas to chambers by end Jan 2007 (installed racks only) By about July 07 all gas systems (but TOTEM) will/should be commissioned No “show stoppers” in sight so far (let’s keep fingers crossed…) Gas system commissioning Dec 2006 S.Haider PH/DT1
