Sir Walter Raleigh Sent expedition in 1584 Settled in Roanoke in 1585

In 1585 75 men were left on the colony while the rest went back to get supplies April 1586, the colony was still there when Sir Francis Drake stopped by.

In 1587 117 colonists came to Roanoke. They found no people there. Homes were dismantled. Found CROATON written on Post and CRO on a tree
