Earthquakes. What causes Earthquakes? Earthquakes are sudden movements or vibrations in the earth’s crust. They are caused by faulting and folding activity.

Earthquakes are caused by when Earth’s rocks surface shift quickly. Some scientists think that earthquakes are caused by slow movements inside the earth.

Earthquakes. Causes of Earthquakes An earthquake is a shaking of Earth’s crust caused by a release of energy Mostly caused by the strain that builds.
  The location underground where an Earthquake begins is the focus.  The crust breaks at the focus, and the released energy pushes outward in all directions.

Earthquakes by Tyler Clark 7C

Earthquakes Earthquakes are disturbances and movements of the earth’s plates The most damage is closer to the center or the focus. A focus is a place deep in the earth’s crust where the earthquake begins The epicenter is on the center right above the focus.

Results of earthquakes Earthquakes can cause fires, landslides, tsunamis, and cracks through the earth. The fires are caused by broken gas lines, hydro lines.

Major Earthquakes in 2008 Sunday March 08, 2009 Local Time: 05:16:04 ADT Magnitude: 3.4 MN Latitude: 46.6 North Longitude: 66.32 West UT Date and Time: 2009-03-08 08:16:04 UT this was a earthquake in Rogersville NB that shows it magnitude and everything.

earthquakes People really don’t like earthquakes because yes they are dangerous and will kill a lot of people and destroys cities. Now here is some photos from how dangerous they are.

See what I mean people are injured and people also died from the disasters of earthquakes

What people are doing to prevent the destruction. Builders are building away from the faults. And builders are building the buildings better. Scientists are working to make accurate forecast on when earthquakes might happen. Geologists are working on ways to forecast where a earthquake may happen.
