Celebrating Three Decades of Collaboration for Student Equity Convening Goals To understand why collaboratives are an important component of equity and access. To promote effective collaboration strategies that are sustainable over time. To share successes, best practices, and lessons learned with colleagues engaged in similar work. To network with colleagues who are addressing similar issues and concerns. To define our shared goals and how to move this work forward. To define next steps for your region as well as CAPP and ARCHES in terms of collaborative work. Celebrating Three Decades of Collaboration for Student Equity

Celebrating Three Decades of Collaboration for Student Equity Open Spaces …a method for organizing the beneficial conversations in the hallways as the main content of the sessions. Celebrating Three Decades of Collaboration for Student Equity

Celebrating Three Decades of Collaboration for Student Equity 4 Principles of Open Spaces Whoever comes are the right people. Whenever it starts, it starts. Whenever it is over, it is over. Whatever happens is the only thing that could have. You are responsible for your own happiness today. Go where you feel your own passion. If you really want to talk about a particular topic or learn about a particular thing it is your responsibility to post it - there is no complaining at the end of the day that something you wanted to talk or hear about didn’t happen - you get to put in on the wall and invite it to happen. Celebrating Three Decades of Collaboration for Student Equity

Celebrating Three Decades of Collaboration for Student Equity The Open Spaces Law The Law of Two Feet If your mind starts to wander, let your feet follow. Go where you are learning or contributing. This is a very emergent process: Be prepared to be surprised. Maybe you host a session and no one comes to join you. This is an excellent opportunity to reflect yourself on the topic. At one of our events, an attendee was absolutely giddy with the idea that she might have an hour to just reflect on something instead of being in action mode. Maybe that is fitting for you too. Celebrating Three Decades of Collaboration for Student Equity

Celebrating Three Decades of Collaboration for Student Equity Open Spaces Notes No notes will be taken or kept If you connect with someone during the conversation, please exchange emails to continue the conversation If there are next steps you would like CAPP/ARCHES to consider, please write it down Celebrating Three Decades of Collaboration for Student Equity
