What will I learn in the Spanish Class? World Languages writers have developed seven units to assist educators in implementing the New Jersey Student Learning Standard for World Languages at the Novice-Mid and Novice-High levels of proficiency. Unit 1 – All About Me Unit 2 – School Days Unit 3 – Home, Sweet, Home Unit 4 – Food, Glorious Food Unit 5 – Celebrations! Unit 6 – Migratory Animals Unit 7 – Going Green https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzE8SEaUsKs

How should I behave in a classroom? Classroom rules # 1 – Treat each other and the teacher with respect. # 2 – Cellphones are not allowed in the classroom (except for specific tasks). # 3 – Come prepared to class. # 4 – All assignments must be handed in on time. # 5 – No eating or drinking in class.  

Consequences of breaking a rule •First time: Warning •Second time: Loss of 20% of weekly grade •Third time: Student must leave the class Parents and Coaches will be called Meeting in principal’s office

What is expected of me? I'll try to do my best as a teacher. I'll help you, advice you and guide you as much as I can. My goal is to help you reach your goals as a learner. How will I be graded? Homework: 10% Homework (including long term projects, research, etc.) Projects: 25% Authentic assessment (portfolios, projects…) Tests: 30% Tests ( the teacher will announce) /Quizzes ( every week). Classwork (keep a neat notebook, demonstration, assignments): 20 % Class participation (problem solving, discussion): 15 % Make-Up Policy: If absent all assignments due to teacher by next class. Tests and Quizzes will not be taken after a week from the test date.
