Basic Premise … There is a link between successful global business and cultural awareness and sensitivity

The Global Manager Today Shifting from international to global Forces you to reorganize the way you think as a manager/student of management New mantra: Think Globally; act locally (anti-standardization) Impossible to know and control all aspects of the job; need to facilitate processes, ideas, behaviors

What will it take?? Types of expertise Strategic – highly knowledgeable about global business; able to integrate into big-picture view of company, industry, environment (current events!) Adaptive – being flexible and adaptable; able to foster this in others; able to adapt to other cultural environments (still 25% expats return earlier than anticipated)
