One Rotary Summit 2016/2017

Agenda Welcome, introductions & setting the stage for OneRotary – 15 minutes OneRotary Summit – Case Study 1 – 40 minutes Hometown Scenario - 40 minutes Wrap Up & Idea Shop – 25 minutes Quick Break Grants Management Seminar

What is a One Rotary Summit? Today’s “One Rotary Summit” joins together Rotarians to exchange ideas and take away cutting-edge ideas on how to energize and bolster your club for growth, service and public interaction. The purpose of the Summit is to understand how Membership, Public Image and the Rotary Foundation all work together and support Rotary’s overall strategic plan. Today is all about fresh new thinking so you can walk away with ideas and hands on tools to help strengthen your club’s membership, public image and involvement in Rotary Foundation fundraising and programs. Instead of you listening to us, we’re going to listen to each other. We want to help you strengthen your club and become a Rotary Champion!

Set the Stage – Membership Membership Chair – Deb Glisson Membership in District 7150 The Importance of Membership Membership Resources

Set the Stage – Public Image District 7150 Public Image Chair – Lizzy Flinn-Brown The Importance of Public Image Support From District 7150 Resources for Public Image

Set the Stage – The Rotary Foundation District Foundation Chair – Mark Matt Our Top Notch Foundation Annual Fund versus Polio Plus Giving District & Global Grants Resources on The Rotary Foundation

Part I: Case Study

Basic instructions First you will work in your current groups to brainstorm solutions for a sample Rotary Club, using Case Study #1. Review the data about the sample club and read about its current challenges Work together to identify strengths and weaknesses, to improve the club’s public image, foundation giving and grow membership Note your ideas on the worksheet to take home to your club

Part II: Hometown Scenario

Basic instructions This activity will be similar to first, except you will use your club instead of a made-up one (choose one club at your table) Interview the chosen club member(s) using the questions that were emailed earlier this week – available on your worksheet Identify the strengths and weaknesses of the club so you can find ways to improve their public image, foundation giving and grow membership Summarize the ideas on your worksheet to take home with you Write your top ideas on your flipchart to share during the Idea Shop at the end of today’s session

Part III: Wrap Up & Idea Shop

Ah-Ha Moment… Looking back on all of the dialogue you had today, what was your biggest “Ah-ha” moment?

Final Wrap Up You all joined together, exchanged ideas and have something new to bring back to your clubs. You all learned more about your clubs and what makes them so special. You also had the chance to help build upon great ideas and address club’s unique opportunities. We want you to be able to see what other groups came up with as well and know who to contact if you’d like more information.

Takeaways Bring your worksheets to your club as ideas that you could use All of today’s materials, this presentation and notes from today’s Ah-ha moments will be posted on the district web site for all participants

Idea Shop All groups will post their flip charts for everyone to see. One representative from each table should stand by their flip charts to add any needed clarity. For the remainder of our time together you’ll be able to roam and review all of the flip charts. We encourage you to write down ideas you see and reach out to those clubs for more info.

Thank You! Thank you!
