Presentation transcript:

CogLab http://coglab.wadsworth.com CogLab is an Interactive online laboratory where students can run demonstrations of 40 classical experiments and concepts from cognitive psychology. It covers experiments in cognitive psychology and perception.

CogLab The Table of Contents provides easy access to the 40 experiments.

CogLab Each experiment is conveniently divided into 4 parts.

CogLab Experiments tell students how much time they will take to complete.

CogLab CogLab uses its Web-based laboratory to teach important cognitive concepts with classic experiments that demonstrate how the mind works. Nothing is more powerful for students than seeing the effects of these experiments.

CogLab How to Get Started… Through the website, instructors can set up a group account for their class and track the student and results from each of the 40 interactive cognitive demonstrations.

CogLab By completing the experiments, the class is then able to collect and analyze real data based on their specific class group. This hands-on experience helps students understand each experiment, its underlying cognitive concepts, the data, and the significance of the study.

CogLab Instructors now have the ability to view textual and graphical data created by students as they complete each experiment. CogLab automatically computes average data across student in the group. Both the instructor and the students can view the average data.

CogLab Data tables in CogLab are tab-delimited, which allows easy portability of CogLab data into programs that use spreadsheets such as MS Excel, SPSS, SigmaPlot and many others.

CogLab INSTRUCTOR SUPPORT MATERIALS: A CogLab Instructors Manual is available in PDF for download at the CogLab website and provides step by step instructors for setting up CogLab Groups, viewing and exporting data and more!

CogLab Student support materials include a 68 page student manual with printouts of the CogLab experiment web pages, working with CogLab data, FAQs, the actual experiments, their expected running times, references, basic questions, Advanced Questions, and Discussions.

CogLab CogLab is a Web-based product, PIN code access is provided through the Student Manual.

CogLab CogLab can be bundled with ANY Wadsworth title, or purchased on its own for use in any number of classes (including cognition, sensation and perception, learning and memory or experimental methods)

Felice Gordis, Lesell College CogLab “Last spring when I used it for the first time, almost every student commented that the labs added immensely to their enjoyment and understanding of the material… having concrete activities of this sophisticated a nature really helps make the material much more accessible to the students.” Felice Gordis, Lesell College Ask your colleagues about their experiences with CogLab! http://coglab.wadsworth.com
