Verb conjugation: refers to how a verb changes to show a different person, tense, number or mood. Person (also known as Subject): In English, we have six different persons: first person singular (I), second person singular (you), third person singular (he/she/it/one), first person plural (we), second person plural (you), and third person plural (they). The subject pronouns of he, she, it, we, they are sometimes replaced with names of the persons/subject. For example, instead of he we might use Kevin or we can be replace Sharon and I.

Practice section A: Read the prompts given by writing the subject pronoun that will replace it. Marty _______ Lorenzo, Hillary and I _________ Will and Ivan _______ Elizabeth __________ Rosie __________ The neighbors __________ Thomas, Sean and I _______ Nando and Sofia _________

We use the subject groups when we conjugate our verbs We use the subject groups when we conjugate our verbs. An example of this is below using one of the most commonly used of English verbs: to be Subject Verb I Am We Are You He/She/It Is They

Practice section B: Complete the sentences with its conjugated form of to be. Mary ______ absent today. Sheila and I _____ best friends. I ____ always early for class. My neighbors ______ never home. How _____ you? ____ Yolanda and you going to the dance?
