Pathways to Teacher Leadership in Mathematics Building Capacity for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching and Learning

Project Goals Goal 1. Deepen mathematical knowledge and understanding of learning progressions aligned to the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSSM). Goal 2. Strengthen instruction and student learning through use of high-leverage and effective math teaching practices. Goal 3. Implement formative assessment principles and practices aligned to the CCSSM to inform instruction and further student learning. Goal 4. Utilize content-focused leadership, facilitation, and coaching strategies as teacher leaders of mathematics within schools and districts.

Introductions Reflecting back on your own experiences in learning algebra, share with each other whether learning algebra was a positive experience or a dreaded memory in your math past and why. Also, introduce yourself, and share your position, grade, and district.
