Medicine Medicine is a drug or other preparation for the treatment or prevention of diseases. What do they do: Prevent Diseases Can replace what's missing (like insulin) block production of a chemical when the body is making too much of it.

Legal Recreational Drugs Legal Recreational drugs are drugs that are prescribed to a patient by their doctor or bought over the counter. Examples of Legal Drugs: Alcohol Tobacco Caffeine

Illegal Drugs Illegal drugs are prescription drugs that have been dangerously modified and substances that are banned by law. Examples of Illegal Drugs: Heroine Cocaine Marijuana

Addiction Addiction is the fact or condition of being addicted to a particular substance or activity. An example of addition is the addiction to drugs or alcohol.

Caffeine Caffeine can affect your body in many ways like: Help you stay awake and alert Can help drowsiness Overdose can cause confusion or hallucination

Cocaine Cocaine can affect your body in ways like: Influence both short- and long-term mental health. Increased energy. Constricted blood vessels.

Depressants The affects od depressants to our body include: Slows normal brain functions, gives a drowsy feeling, but over time the effects fade as body builds tolerance. Addiction can result, withdrawal can be painful, and the drug may cause seizures and death.

Stimulants The affects of Stimulants to your body include: exhaustion, apathy and depression can be addictive. high doses of some stimulants over time can lead to hostility or paranoia, also result in dangerously high body temperatures and an irregular heartbeat.

Negative affect on families They may forget or get distracted because their focus is on getting and taking drugs. They might lie or steal money to buy drugs. They might get fired from their jobs. They may do bad things they would never do if they weren't abusing drugs.
