New Technology of the Civil War

Minnie Ball New cone shaped bullet had a much longer range and was much more accurate than earlier weapons.

Improved Rifles Rifles are more power and can be reloaded faster.

Gatlin Gun Rapid fire weapons were introduced towards the end of the war.

Cannon Cannon had longer range and were more accurate

Railroads Northern states had far more railroad tracks than the South. Lincoln took over the railroads and used them as a tool for the military

Telegraph The North had much more telegraph wire and could therefore communicate better than the South.

Northern Advantages The north held the advantage in all aspects of industrialization and technology. These advantages were used as tools of war to defeat the South.
