Background Design a portable vacuum to suck 1 cup of rice in under 60 seconds. Portable vacuum designed from a cordless power drill.
Axial Impeller 3 inch axial impeller designed in SolidWorks. 3D printed in Penn State printing lab.
Connecting Impeller to Motor Used vertical mill and lathe to produce connector to attach the impeller to the drill motor. Made from 6061-T4 Aluminum.
Secure Motor to Vacuum Housing Designed in Solidworks and cut using a water jet. Made from 6061-T4 Aluminum.
Vacuum Nozzle Designed in SolidWorks. 3D printed and attached to the front of the vacuum to pick up rice.
Vacuum Assembly Impeller secured to motor (front).

Vacuum Assembly PVC Piping used for vacuum housing. Cordless drill handle, trigger, and battery used to operate and hold vacuum.
