Needed to work with dichotomies Science with practice Flexibility with contracting process Evidence base with creativity Survivor perspective with prevention Clinical with public health
Created a request for proposals One for colon/one for prostate screening Colon: provider targeted/clinical systems Prostate: provider/consumer targeted DOH does contracting and control ARC does review, monitoring, and evaluation
We offer technical assistance Baseline data reports online Summaries of intervention literature online Limited help with grant writing Sit on review committee Design evaluation plan Assist with intervention planning Monitor progress and evaluation plan Help with evaluation if necessary Assist with manuscript preparation
Review committee 2 members from statewide task force 2 academic members ARC and DOH staff in review meeting, not voting One member from CPCRN – that’s you!
Process of the grants RFP out in September 2005 Review grants in November Award grants in Jan 2006 Grants extend for 18 months Evaluation all the way along and at end Five year evaluation? What next?
