NCO’s Non-Commissioned Officer’s Corporal (Cpl) Sergeant (Sgt) Flight Sergeant (FS) Cadet Warrant Officer (CWO)

NCO’s Promotions are the responsibility of the Commanding Officer of the Squadron Number of NCO’s per Squadron depends on the size of the Squadron NCO ‘establishment’ is laid down in AP1919 Maximum age for a Cadet/NCO is 20 years old

CWO CWO is a Wing Appointment not a Squadron Appointment Minimum age is 18 years old The number of CWO’s a Wing can have is the number of Squadrons multiplied by one and two thirds ECSM are allowed 38 CWO’s Maximum age to remain as a CWO is 20 years old (reduced from 22 years after the LASER review)

SQUADRON STAFF Staff numbers are determined by the strength of the Squadron Wing can authorise ‘over establishment’ Do not exceed 1.66 times the AP1919 figures Squadron with a band may appoint an additional AWO or SNCO as bandmaster ‘A’ classification squadrons will have a Squadron Leader as CO
