MyChart An important aspect of Novant Health is the integrated information system within Novant Health. All Novant Health locations are able to access a patient’s medical history which helps streamline patient care across the various service providers. It is also important for people to have access to their own health information. For this reason, Novant uses a health management tool called, “MyChart.” This program allows patients to conveniently view their health information whenever they need it, email their care team, schedule appointments, and even refill prescriptions.

Billing and Payments First, as appropriate, Medicare, Medicaid, or the patient’s primary insurance company is billed directly. Any remaining balance (or total balance if there is no insurance coverage) will then be billed to the patient. There may end up being multiple invoices depending on the complexity of the care and variety of specialists involved. The bill can be paid for in person or on-line for convenience. “Financial navigators” are also available to patients to help estimate insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs.
