starfish By Shivangi Kachole

Name of the starfish in Finding Nemo The starfish in Finding Nemo is Peach. She was there in the Dentist’s Aquarium.

Scientific name of the starfish The scientific name of the starfish is Asterias Forbesii.

Where does starfish live? Starfish lives in the seas of European Continent, United States and Australia. It lives in salty water because it cannot live in fresh water.

What does starfish eat? They are carnivores so they eat oysters, fish, coral and clams

How does starfish reproduce? Starfish commonly reproduce via a method called "free-spawning". This means that they release their gametes into the water, where they will hopefully be fertilized by the gamete from the opposite sex.

Interesting facts!!!! Although sea stars live underwater and are commonly called "starfish," they are not fish. They do not have gills, scales, or fins like fish do and they move quite differently from fish. Starfish are beautiful animals that can be a variety of colors, shapes and sizes, although all resemble a star. If you gently turn over a live sea star, you'll see its tube feet wiggling back at you. These iconic marine animals are fascinating creatures.

More facts about starfish! While the five-armed varieties of starfish are the most well known, not all starfish have 5 arms. Some have many more. Take the starfish for instance, which has up to 40 arms! Starfish house most of their vital organs in their arms. Starfish have a tough covering on their upper side, which is made up of plates of calcium carbonate with tiny spines on their surface

Their special features!!! Starfish are invertebrates. It means that they have no backbones. Amazingly, some starfish can shed an arm and grow a new one later if a predator has caught an arm in its mouth. Some, but very few, can grow an entire body from a single ray.

Why is it living? How does it breathe? Starfish breathe through both their feet and through tiny breathing tubes which are scattered throughout their bodies. Their feet are also used to pry open the shells of clams and oysters for eating. If it gets cut out as a half then Only it can grow.

recall Starfish are Invertebrates They are carnivores Their scientific name is Asterias Forbesii
