Writing Non Negotiables I can use the first three or four letters of a word to check its spelling in a dictionary. I can plan my writing by noting and developing ideas, drawing on reading and research where necessary. Homework Spellings to be given out on a Monday. Children are to write these out everyday and on the following Monday they need to be tested. New spellings will then be given out The children are expected to read or be read to every day for 20 minutes. They then need to write a blurb in their homework diaries. Weekly comprehension or maths activity Topic based projects or tasks may also be set

Excel Tracking Each child will have an individual tracking sheet with objectives which need to be mastered for writing, reading, maths and science. These will be used to determine whether they are working towards, working within, expected or exceeding at greater depth.
