To Qualify for Internship By Summer of Internship 60 earned credit hours (Junior status) 12 credit hours of CRIM 2.5 GPA (minimum) Process: Complete Departmental Internship Application Search for Internship Agency Apply and Interview with Internship Agency Letter of Acceptance and Job Description Liability Insurance and Approval from Dean’s Office Register For Internship Meet with Faculty Supervisor Begin Summer Internship

Internship Requirements 12 credits: 480 work hours required 6 credits: 240 work hours required Academic Assignments Journals Daily Entries Weekly Summaries Writing Assignments (Professional Development) Supervisors Site Supervisor Faculty Supervisor Daily journal-record the events and observations of the day Weekly summaries-essence of daily journal and offer insights and summaries of what you have learned Paper-Academic—specific to your internship experience…describe issue, address the underlying theory, lit review, gather and analyze data, draw conclusions Professional—opportunity to develop an academic paper based on professional work product or project of the agency.

Grading Site supervisor’s evaluation and recommendation Quality of journal entries Quality of written assignments Timely submission of work products Site supervisor-day to day supervisor and agency representative will provide an evaluation of your internship performance Faculty supervisor-will be in contact with your site supervisor, evaluate academic work and submit course grade
