I Believe in the Holy Spirit Part 2

Gal 4:5-6, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, 5 to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. 6 Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father."

The first word is “sonship.” Rom 8:15-16, For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. The first word is “sonship.”

Eph 1:13-14, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.

2Cor 1:21, God anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. The second & third words are “seal” and “deposit.”

The fourth word is “conviction.” 1Thess 1:5, our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. The fourth word is “conviction.”

2 Cor 3:17, Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Gal 5:1, It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. The fifth word is “freedom.”

Acts 20:22-23, And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. 23 I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me.

The sixth word is “suffering.” Phil 1:29, 3:10, For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him … I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings. The sixth word is “suffering.”

Heb 10:32-34, Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering. 33 Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those

who were so treated. 34 You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions.

In Iran, the missions report read, “Between June 2010 and January 2011 there was a significant increase in the number of arbitrary arrests of Christians solely for practicing their faith in Iran. In total there were 202 arrests, and at the end of January 33 Christians were still in prison.”

Rm 8:23, we who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

1Cor 15:20-22, Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep … For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. The final word is “firstfuits.”

Eph 2:15-18, His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility … For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. The first word is “reconciliation.”

Eph 4:3-4, Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. The second word is “unity.”

2 Cor 13:14, May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Phil 2:1,4, If you have any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then … each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. The third word is “fellowship.”

Jn 4:24, God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.“ The fourth word is “worship.”

1 John 5:7-8, There are three that testify: 8 the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. The fifth word is “sacrament.”

Eph 6:18, And pray in the Spirit on all occasions. Rom 8:26, We do not know how to pray for, but the Spirit intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. The sixth word is “prayer.”

Mk 12:36, David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit. 1Cor 2:13, This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. The seventh word is “speaking.”

1 Cor 14:1, 5, Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy … He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified.

Acts 2:4-8, All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues (“glossais”) as the Spirit enabled them. 5 Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. 6 When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one

heard them speaking in his own language heard them speaking in his own language. 7 Utterly amazed, they asked: "Are not all these men who are speaking Galileans? 8 Then how is it that each of us hears them in his own native language? 9 What are tongues “glossais”? The tongues are languages “dialekto” spoken by people groups in the ancient world.

V9-11, Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome 11 (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs - we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!"

Acts 1:8, But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. The eighth word is “power.”

Acts 13:2, While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” The last word is “intercultural work or missions.”
