First Grade Newsletter April 24-28 Mrs. Sellars ksellars@g-pisd,org Conference: Mon-Thurs 10:35-11:25 Events: April 27th- Author Visit May 2nd- PTA at 7PM May 3rd- field trip to the ESA (8:30-12:00) May 8-10th- STAAR Testing Spelling Words apple table purple circle turtle certain minutes went back bubble Sight Words around begin many favorite thing before jumping stopping gone long Class News: 4/28- spelling test and sight word test Library- Wednesday Book Bags- Friday Please make sure your student is at school everyday and on time! Curriculum: Grammar- capitalization Reading-author study ( Jan Brett) Phonics- final stable syllables Writing- short poems Math- personal financial literacy Science- Life Cycle of a Butterfly We will be visiting the ESA (early scholars academy) on May 3rd. We will leave the school at 8:30 and return at 12:00 for a pizza lunch in our classroom. Please bring $5.00 to help support the cost of the field trip and return all permission slips by May 1st.
