Looking For Work Session 3- Interviews

Looking For Work Previous Sessions: What job do I want? Resume’s

How we look- who cares? What We Say 7% How We Look 56% How We Say It 37%

What should I wear? Wear clothes right for the type of job interview Wear something you would normally wear to work but a bit more dressed up For example- don’t wear a suit for a job as a gardener

Activity What would you wear to meet the boss ? Work in pairs

Summary Why is what you wear important? What you would wear for an interview?

How We Act Friendly Polite Shake Hand if offered Some eye contact is good Speak clearly

What we say? Questions are usually the same Why do you want to work here? What experience do you have ( have you done any work before like this ) Tell me about yourself Why should we hire you?

It’s good to prepare Write down or think about answers to questions before you talk to the boss Think of at least one question to ask

Role Play Activity In pairs- pretend that you are the boss and you are interviewing your partner Then switch roles

Discussion How did you go? Any problems? Would anyone like to role play up the front?

Summary Questions are usually the same Its good to prepare or think ahead Speak clearly, Be polite/ friendly and confident Know about the job – ask questions/ research
