Presentation transcript:

SWOT ANALYSIS Strengths Good representation of its’ members. Diversity throughout Northern Ontario. A wealth of experience and respected organization. PCTA trying to keep a close affiliation with its members. Possible to have more face-to-face meetings to become more productive. We should use technology differently. Operational – no linkage to the PCTA “Board”. ACTION: Push message from the PCTA Board to engage members with possible on-site visits. This would be beneficial. We need a “cause” through the social media and message our strengths.

SWOT ANALYSIS Weaknesses Not enough awareness or engagement of members/faculty. Some members don’t even know they are PCTA members. Not enough accountability or identification. Don’t have an “issue” for faculty engagement. Lack of education and promotion. What have we benefitted patients in local communities? ACTION: To promote awareness to all faculty with a “tag line” that people will know who we are. Use a budget line for promotion to enhance, and need promotional materials and message that the PCTA would like to get out (objective). Performance metrics may be used to gage our success.

SWOT ANALYSIS Opportunities Starting point would come up with clear objectives to be put in place. We are 1000 strong which is a formidable network. On-line learning tools to be put in place. Learners can become faculty. ACTION: Have board members’ profiles on our website, on-line learning tools, have promotion through NOSM’s website. To contact NOSM’s communication staff for possible strategies. Less wording for more impact on our objective. Possibly take of the “login password” on the website.

SWOT ANALYSIS Threats We have lost the individual connections from when we were a smaller group. Spread out geographically that we are threatened with disengagement of faculty. MOHLTC funding uncertainty is the biggest threat. Research funds. NOSM – have financial and administrative demands. Accountability for funds. Segregation of NOSM, AHSC, etc.
