The Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring Established in 1999 Canterbury University/ Durham University Annually about 350 NZ schools and 70 000 students use our services Evaluates and monitors progress of students, subjects and schools to enable evidence based decision making 4 permanent staff 1 contracted consultant software engineer Team of 9 casual data entry staff

Services provided by CEM Value added assessment; PIPS, MidYIS7, MidYIS9 Student attitude and engagement surveys SATIS and SAES Teacher Engagement Survey TAES School Entrance Tests, entry into Year 7 and 9 (Mathematics, English and Reasoning skills) School competitions College of Education Entry assessments Comprehensive programme of school visits: This year in Auckland, Waikato, Wellington, West Coast, Dunedin
