“Beowulf “ & The Modern Epic Hero Poem English Literature Zee Aleman

You will write a modern poem based on “Beowulf” Your poem will have 18-20 lines Your poem will include lines from modern song lyrics Your poem will reflects actions/people/themes You may work with a partner

You will type your poem on a paper no larger than 11x14 Your paper will be decorated with watermark, pictures, drawings, etc. You will use a font size 14 or larger You will provide an original tile You will (both) present your poem in class You will provide a theme for your poem

You will only use lyrics from select songs (see titles on last slide) You may not repeat any lines You may only use 2 lines from each song maximum You will include a list of song titles you used on a separate sheet of paper You may NOT alter the lyrics
