Cable Requests for additional IP address space 80% of previous allocation must be reported via SWIP or RWHOIS (Market areas are reported) Market areas identified in ARIN WHOIS using a city/town name Reports submitted to ARIN include these market area names and provide utilization details A market area must demonstrate over 50% usage to justify additional IP address space Three month requirement taken into consideration

Cable Businesses Using Cable Services May require more than a single IP address Must justify their reassignment per RFC 2050 Cable provider must report this reassignment via SWIP or RWHOIS if a /29 or shorter

DSL Residential DSL Services It is expected residential service is offered with a single IP address or DHCP Some exceptions warranted where IDSL/SDSL may have a technical requirement for more than a /32 Technical requirements must be explained by DSL provider There are some instances where a /29 is assigned This must be reported via SWIP or RWHOIS Name and postal address of residential customer may be omitted from WHOIS and replaced with “private residence”

DSL Business DSL Services Assignment criteria from RFC 2050 applies Assignments of a /29 or shorter must be reported via SWIP or RWHOIS
